Communities are changing online. It used to be that you went to a location online to find your community. Teachers could go to TappedIn, or their association community like NCTM or NSTA. The place and the site defined the focus.
Now teachers have many tools at their disposal through which they can connect in ways that are meaningful to them and that they create. They can use TeacherTube or Facebook or Twitter or any of a large number of sites dedicated to connecting people and giving them the tools to create their community. It's a major shift.
